Aviation safety reports, made easier to study

NTSB Reports is an independent research and search tool for public aviation accident and incident records. It brings NTSB aviation reports, structured fields, docket files, extracted figures, photos, videos, and update history into one searchable interface.

The goal is practical safety education: make it faster to find relevant investigations, compare similar events, review factual records, and understand the evidence behind probable-cause and preliminary reports.

The investigative work and source records belong to the National Transportation Safety Board and the published investigation record. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NTSB.

Full Narrative

On July 6, 1994, at 2146 mountain daylight time, a Cessna T-188C agricultural aircraft, N4900T, was substantially damaged when it struck a power line while engaged in aerial application activities. The commercial pilot sustained minor injuries. There was no flight plan filed for this flight which had originated at Weiser, Idaho at 2135, and no ELT was installed in the aircraft. The pilot stated that agricultural operations were being conducted in the evening as they had to "wait for the bees to go to bed," because he was spraying insecticides. He stated that he was flying west, into the sun, and pulled up too early for a transmission line that crossed the field at a 45 degree angle. He said that a wing caught in the power line before crashing.
