About

Aviation safety reports, made easier to study

NTSB Reports is an independent research and search tool for public aviation accident and incident records. It brings NTSB aviation reports, structured fields, docket files, extracted figures, photos, videos, and update history into one searchable interface.

The goal is practical safety education: make it faster to find relevant investigations, compare similar events, review factual records, and understand the evidence behind probable-cause and preliminary reports.

The investigative work and source records belong to the National Transportation Safety Board and the published investigation record. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NTSB.

Full Narrative

On September 10, 1994, about 1315 eastern daylight time, a Schweizer, SGS 2-33A, N34215, registered to Robert A. Burbank, collided with trees while landing at Bob Lee Airport, Deland, Florida, while on a 14 CFR part 91 pleasure flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft received substantial damage and the private-rated pilot was not injured. The flight originated at Deland, Florida, on September 10, 1994, at 1300. The pilot stated that while on final approach he maneuvered to the left to avoid an ultralight aircraft which was on a parallel approach with him. As he crossed the runway threshold he put his left wing down to move further left away from the ultralight aircraft. The left wing contacted the ground. The aircraft rolled to the right and the right wing contacted the ground. The aircraft rolled back to the left, the left wing again contacted the ground, and the aircraft veered to the left and collided with trees.
