Aviation safety reports, made easier to study

NTSB Reports is an independent research and search tool for public aviation accident and incident records. It brings NTSB aviation reports, structured fields, docket files, extracted figures, photos, videos, and update history into one searchable interface.

The goal is practical safety education: make it faster to find relevant investigations, compare similar events, review factual records, and understand the evidence behind probable-cause and preliminary reports.

The investigative work and source records belong to the National Transportation Safety Board and the published investigation record. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NTSB.

Full Narrative

On October 10, 1994, at 1230 central daylight time, an Air Tractor AT-502, N133HF, was substantially damaged during an aborted takeoff at Lamesa, Texas. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for this aerial application flight. The commercial pilot was uninjured. During an interview conducted by a Federal Aviation Administration inspector, and in his written statement, the pilot stated that he was halfway down the runway when he aborted takeoff due to conflicting traffic in position to takeoff from the opposite direction. During the abort, the pilot lost directional control and ground looped the aircraft. The aircraft sustained damaged to the empennage, wings, and fuselage.
