The pilot of the Acro, N40LF, reported that at the request of the control tower he landed mid-point on the runway, and behind the Cessna 172, N5542R. During the ground roll, the Acro impacted the right wing of the Cessna. The pilot of the Acro stated 'forward visibility is very restrictive in this model with the tail down.' The pilot of the Cessna reported that he was taxiing on the runway after landing. He was about to make a left turn off the runway when the Acro impacted his airplane's right wing.

Full Narrative

On July 31, 1995, at 0930 central daylight time (cdt), an amateur built Acro II, N40LF, taxied into the wing of a Cessna 172, N5542R, while both were taxiing on runway 27 at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Acro II sustained minor damage, while the Cessna received substantial damage. The pilot of the Acro II, the pilot of the Cessna, and three passengers in the Cessna reported no injuries. The accident occurred in visual meteorological conditions. Neither airplane had filed a flight plan. The Acro II had departed Dodge County Airport, Wisconsin at 0900 cdt. The Cessna had departed Dakota, Illinois, at 0900 cdt. The pilot of the Acro, N40LF, reported he landed behind the Cessna 172, N5542R, on runway 27 (6,180' x 150'). He stated that at the request of the control tower, he landed mid-point on the runway. During the ground roll, the Acro impacted the right wing of the Cessna. The pilot stated, "forward visibility is very restrictive in this model with the tail down." The pilot of the Cessna reported he was taxiing the airplane on runway 27 after landing. He stated that he was about to make a left turn off the runway when the Acro impacted his airplane's right wing.
