The pilot reported that the airplane bounced twice while he was landing on a private airstrip. After the second bounce, the nose gear collapsed and the airplane nosed over.

Full Narrative

On April 20, 1998, at 1900 eastern daylight time, a Maule MXT-7- 108A, N327PF, operated by a private pilot nosed over following a loss of control while landing on a private airstrip in Orland, Indiana. The airplane was substantially damaged and the pilot was not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight and no flight plan was filed. The flight originated from the same private airstrip. The pilot reported that while landing to the east the airplane bounced twice. The nose gear collapsed after the second bounce and the airplane nosed over.
