Aviation safety reports, made easier to study

NTSB Reports is an independent research and search tool for public aviation accident and incident records. It brings NTSB aviation reports, structured fields, docket files, extracted figures, photos, videos, and update history into one searchable interface.

The goal is practical safety education: make it faster to find relevant investigations, compare similar events, review factual records, and understand the evidence behind probable-cause and preliminary reports.

The investigative work and source records belong to the National Transportation Safety Board and the published investigation record. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NTSB.

Full Narrative

On April 9, 1993, at approximately 1810 central daylight time (CDT) a Cessna 150J, N5517G, was substantially damaged during landing near Waterproof, Louisiana. Weather for the local flight was visual meteorological conditions. The private pilot, who was also the owner, was not injured. During an interview, conducted by a Federal Aviation Administration inspector, the pilot reported that after landing "long and hot" he applied the brakes and the airplane skidded on the wet turf. When the airplane reached the end of the turf strip it struck a paved area with the main landing gear, with the brakes still applied, and the airplane nosed over to the inverted position.
