WITH INSUFFICIENT POWER TO RETURN TO THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT, 8 NM AWAY, THE PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A WOODED AREA. POST-CRASH FIRE DAMAGE PRECLUDED FUNCTIONAL TESTING OF THE FUEL AND IGNITION SYSTEMS.
