The pilot stated he made a normal approach and landing to runway 9 right. During landing roll a gust of wind lifted the left wing. He did not respond quick enough and the right wing contacted the runway and the airplane nosed over.

The failure of the pilot to maintain directional control and his inadequate compensation for wind.

Full Narrative

On April 1, 2003, about 1000 eastern standard time, a Mathews Pegazai, N405BM, registered to and operated by a private individual, nosed over during landing roll at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, Lakeland, Florida, while on a Title 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed. The commercial-rated pilot received minor injuries and the airplane received substantial damage. The flight originated from Cross City, Florida, the same day, about 0830. The pilot stated he made a normal approach and landing to runway 9 right. During landing roll a gust of wind lifted the left wing. He did not respond quick enough and the right wing contacted the runway and the airplane nosed over.
