NTSB Reports is an independent research and search tool for public aviation accident and incident records. It brings NTSB aviation reports, structured fields, docket files, extracted figures, photos, videos, and update history into one searchable interface.
The goal is practical safety education: make it faster to find relevant investigations, compare similar events, review factual records, and understand the evidence behind probable-cause and preliminary reports.
The investigative work and source records belong to the National Transportation Safety Board and the published investigation record. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NTSB.

The student pilot was attempting to land when the airplane porpoised and went off the side of the runway, striking a sign and sustaining substantial damage. The student pilot did not report any preaccident mechanical problems with the airplane.
The student pilot's inadvertent porpoise during landing, which resulted in a loss of control and a collision with a sign.
On October 9, 2005, at 1404 eastern daylight time, a Beech model 19A, N5083T, piloted by a student pilot, sustained substantial damage during landing on runway 32 (3,501 feet by 100 feet, asphalt), at the Jackson County Airport-Reynolds Field, Jackson, Michigan. The 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight was operating in visual meteorological conditions without a flight plan. The pilot was not injured. The flight originated from the Owosso Community Airport, Owosso, Michigan, at an unconfirmed time. According to statements from two air traffic controllers, the airplane porpoised on runway 32 during landing. The controllers reported that the airplane then went off of the runway, striking a runway sign, and came to rest in the grass between runway 32 and taxiway D. The student pilot reported having a total of 39 hours of flight experience.
