The airplane nosed over resulting in substantial damage. An examination of the engine revealed a failure of the supercharger assembly.

The pilot stated that he "dumped the load" and performed a forced landing to a corn field. The airplane nosed over. The vertical stabilizer was crushed down and to the right 90 degrees and both top wings were crushed aft and wrinkled. An examination of the engine revealed the engine sump plug was full of metal. Further examination of the engine revealed heat damage on the impeller shaft, and a failure of the bearing retainer of the supercharger assembly.
