Full Narrative

On February 16, 2009 at 1520 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) a Cessna P206 single engine airplane, Panamanian Registration HP-1367 RS was destroyed on impact and consumed by a post crash fire near the Island of Cebaco, Panama. The last known position was reported south of the city of Santiago, Panama. The airplane was owned by Panama Aircraft Rental & Sales and operated by a private individual. The cross country flight had taken off from Aeropuerto Marcos A. Gelabert (MAG), Panama City, Panama with the intended destination of the Island of Coiba (COJ), Panama. One passenger was killed and the pilot and one passenger sustained serious injuries. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the government of Panama.
