On December 17, 2009, a TAF Cargo B727, Brazilian registration PR-MTL, struck trees on approach to the Manaus Airport. The airplane went around and diverted. The airplane had damage to the leading edge, slats, and landing gear. This accident is being investigated by the Brazilian Centro de Investigação e Prevenção de Acidentes Aeronáuticos (CENIPA). The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to the CENIPA's investigation in accordance with the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13 as the state of manufacture of the airplane. All inquiries should be directed to CENIPA at www.cenipa.aer.mil.br.
