On May 13, 2012, about 2030 local time (May 14, 2012, about 0030 coordinated universal time), a Cessna T210M, Mexican registration XB-MPL, was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain in Manabí Province, Ecuador. The pilot and passenger, both of unknown nationality, were fatally injured. The origin of the flight was unknown and the airplane was not in contact with Ecuadorian authorities. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the government of Ecuador.
