On October 10, 2012, at 1630 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), a Sikorsky S-61, Brazilian registration PR-HRU, experienced a loss of power in the number one engine and performed a single-engine landing to Carauari Airport, Carauari Municipality, Brazil. The flight was operated by HRT. The two pilots onboard were not injured. According to information provided by the government of Brazil, helicopter was on final approach for landing when the number one engine experienced a loss of power. The engine temperature began to increase, and the pilots performed an emergency shutdown. The helicopter landed without incident. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the government of Brazil.
