On September 17, 2013 about 0523 Universal Time, an experimental amateur-built Lancair, Canadian registration C-FXCK, collided with terrain while maneuvering near Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. The airplane was participating in an aerobatic exhibition when the accident occurred. The pilot and passenger were fatally injured and the airplane sustained substantial damage. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is investigating the accident. As the State of Manufacture of the airplane and engine, the NTSB has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the CAAC in its investigation.
