On October 20, 2013, about 0825 coordinated universal time, a Cessna 172R, OE-KRP, impacted terrain shortly after takeoff from the Krems Langenlois Airport, Krems, Austria. The private pilot was fatally injured and the passenger sustained serious injuries. The airplane was substantially damaged. Instrument meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight. The flight was originating at the time of the accident. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Austrian government.
