On February 25, 2014, at 2055 universal coordinated time, a Hughes 369D, ZK-IQQ, was substantially damaged when the main rotor blades contacted and severed the tailboom at the conclusion of an autorotation and landing near Moonlight Creek, New Zealand. The helicopter was registered to Heli Tours Limited and operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of New Zealand. The pilot and two passengers were not injured. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of New Zealand. This report is for information purposes only and contains only information released by the Government of New Zealand.
