On April 4, 2014, at 0920 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), a Piper PA-30, N678AL, was destroyed when it impacted terrain during cruise flight near Collagna, Italy. The pilot, the sole occupant, was fatally injured. The flight was operated by a private individual, and originated from Genoa Airport (LIMJ), Genoa, Italy, with an intended destination of Eberswalde-Finow Airport (EDAV), Eberswalde, Germany. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Italy.
