On April 12, 2014, at 1230 universal coordinated time, a Maule M-5-235C, VH-HOG, struck a power line and subsequently impacted terrain near Lismore Aerodrome, Australia. The airplane was operated by the pilot under the pertinent civil regulation of the government of Australia. The airplane was substantially damaged. The pilot received minor injuries and the passenger was fatally injured. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Australia.
