On March 13, 2014, a Cessna T188C, Ecuadorian registration HC-BTA, was substantially damaged when it lost engine power and impacted terrain near Canton Naranjal, Ecuador. A postaccident fire ensued. The foreign certificated pilot received minor injuries. The aerial application flight departed Canton Naranjal, Province of Guayas, Ecuador, on a local flight. This accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) of Ecuador.
