On September 7, 2014, about 1535 coordinated universal time, a Cessna 172R, Brazilian registration PR-TOT, was substantially damaged when it impacted powerlines while performing a go-around maneuver near the Comandante Gastao Airport (SDVI), Tangara de Serra Municipality, in the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The pilot received serious injuries, one passenger received minor injuries, and the other passenger received fatal injuries. The flight, which was conducted under Brazilian flight regulations, departed Cuiabá/Marechal Rondon International Airport (SBCY), Várzea Grande Municipality, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. This accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center (CENIPA) of Brazil.
