On October 17, 2014, about 0630 coordinated universal time, an Ayres S-2R, Turkish registration TC-ZEC, was substantially damaged during a forced landing following a loss of engine power near Karatepe, Turkey. The pilot was not injured. The local aerial application flight, which originated from Balikesir Edremit Korfez Airport (LTFD), Edremit, Turkey, was conducted under Turkish flight regulations. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Civil Aviation, Republic of Turkey.
