On July 5, 2014, at 1437 local time, a Robinson R44, Russian registration RA-04288, was destroyed during a forced landing, following an engine failure in the vicinity of a thunderstorm, near Novosheshminsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. The Russian pilot was seriously injured. The flight, which originated at Bugulma, Tatarstan, destined for Kazan, Tatarstan, was being conducted under Russian flight regulations. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Interstate Aviation Committee.
