On January 16, 2016, about 1532 coordinated universal time, a Socata TB-20 single engine airplane, serial number 747, registry EC-ESK, was destroyed after impacting terrain near Cuenca, Spain, during cruise flight. The pilot and three passengers were fatally injured. The airplane had departed from Alicante, Spain, and was enroute to León, Spain. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the government of Spain.
