On January 1, 2015, about 1700 local time, a Rans S-6 Coyote II, Portuguese registration CS-UJF, impacted terrain after departure from the Beja Civil Aerodrome (LPBE), Beja, Portugal. The pilot and passenger were seriously injured and the airplane was destroyed by a post-crash fire. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident and no known flight plan was filed. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Portuguese government.
