On August 27, 2016, at 1047 local time, an XtremeAir XA-42, N344XA, operated by Southern Aircraft Consultancy Inc. collided with the ground during an aerobatic maneuver at an airshow near the Zhangye Ganzhou Airport, China. The airplane was operating under the pertinent civil regulations for the government of China. The airplane was substantially damaged and the pilot, the sole occupant, was fatally injured. The accident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
