On April 29, 2017, at 1632 UTC, a Socata TB-20, D-ECJP, impacted terrain near Canillas de Aceituno in Malaga, Spain. The aircraft was destroyed, and the pilot and two passengers were fatally injured. The flight departed Mutxamel Airfield (LEMU) in Alicante, Spain with an intended destination of Granada Airport (LEGR) in Granada, Spain. This investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Comisión de Investigación de Accidentes e Incidentes de Aviació Civil (CIAIAC) Spain. Under the provisions of Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation as a State of Design, the United States has designated an accredited representative to participate in the investigation.
