On September 21, 2016, about 1415 coordinated universal time, an Air Tractor AT-602, N1001R, was substantially damaged during a forced landing to a sugar plantation, following a total loss of engine power during descent near Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Brazil. The pilot was not injured. The flight departed Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, was destined for Mirassol, Brazil, and was conducted under Brazilian flight regulations.The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center of Brazil.
