On July 17, 2018, at 1300 UTC, a Cessna 182, G-BHYA, S/N R182-00532, experienced an engine failure on a local flight from a private airfield in Les Rabassières, France. The pilot declared an emergency landing and the airplane experienced a runway excursion during landing. The airplane was substantially damaged. The pilot, the sole occupant, did not suffer any injuries. This investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis (BEA) France. Under the provisions of Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation as a State of Design, the United States has designated an accredited representative to participate in the investigation.
