On November 28, 2018, about 0850 coordinated universal time, a Bell Helicopter 407 GX, PK-JPB, executed a precautionary landing following the illumination of the engine chip detector caution light near West Bangkala, Indonesia. There were no injuries to the pilot or passenger and the helicopter sustained substantial damage. The helicopter was operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Indonesia. The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacturer of the helicopter and engine, the NTSB has designated a US accredited representative to assist the NTSC in its investigation.
