Aviation safety reports, made easier to study

NTSB Reports is an independent research and search tool for public aviation accident and incident records. It brings NTSB aviation reports, structured fields, docket files, extracted figures, photos, videos, and update history into one searchable interface.

The goal is practical safety education: make it faster to find relevant investigations, compare similar events, review factual records, and understand the evidence behind probable-cause and preliminary reports.

The investigative work and source records belong to the National Transportation Safety Board and the published investigation record. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NTSB.

On October 19, 2024, about 1400 Pacific daylight time, an experimental amateur built Vans RV-10, N929EH, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Beaver Creek, Oregon. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that he was departing Sunriver Airport (S21), Sunriver, Oregon, for a cross-country flight to Crater Lake/Klamath Region Airport (LMT), Klamath Falls, Oregon. Prior to takeoff, the pilot had an electrical system warning, and returned to the ramp, shut down the engine, and inspected the electrical system. After restarting the engine, the pilot observed no electrical system malfunctions and proceeded with the takeoff on runway 21. About 15 minutes after departure, the electrical system failed which was followed by the engine's complete loss of power. The pilot elected to initiate a forced landing to a road. While on approach to the road, the airplane collided with trees and landed short of the road, resulting in substantial damage to the right wing. The airplane was recovered to a secure facility for further examination.
