On 21 February 2012, a Rockwell Gulfstream 695 Commander 980, registration XC-PFB, crashed near El Refugio Mexico, after slowing and departing controlled flight at 20,000 feet. Ther aircraft was destroyed, and the three occupants were fatally injured. The accident is being investigated by the Mexican Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). The NTSB designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to the DGAC's investigation under the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13 as the state of manufacturer of the airplane.
